Who we are

Your Doctor Abroad (P.IVA: 03016040184, Milan, Italy) provides online and in-person medical consultations to patients across Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled.

What we collect

When you use our booking forms, we collect the information you provide directly — your name, age, location, contact details, and a description of your medical need. When you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is handled through WhatsApp's own platform, subject to WhatsApp's privacy policy in addition to ours. If you submit a review or apply to join our network of doctors, we collect the details included in those forms as well.

Anonymized until you choose a doctor

When you submit a consultation request, the details of your case are shared internally to match you with an available doctor. Your identifying contact information is only shared directly with the specific doctor once you've been matched and your appointment is confirmed — not broadcast to every doctor on the platform.

How we use it

Your information is used to match you with a doctor, schedule your consultation, provide the consultation itself, and offer follow-up care. We don't sell your personal or health information to third parties, and we only share it with the doctor handling your case and, where necessary, with a pharmacy to fulfill a prescription.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

For patients in the European Economic Area, we process your data based on your consent (when you submit a request) and, where applicable, to fulfill a contract for medical services. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, though this may affect our ability to continue providing care.

How long we keep it

We retain consultation records for as long as needed to provide follow-up care and to meet any legal or medical record-keeping obligations that apply in your country. You can request earlier deletion of non-essential data at any time.

International data transfers

Because we serve patients across multiple continents, your information may be processed in a country other than the one you're located in. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it's protected to a standard consistent with this policy.

Where it's stored

Form submissions on this site are processed through third-party services (including WhatsApp and, for certain forms, Web3Forms) to deliver your request to our team. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these providers directly, since they process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including limiting access to your data to the doctor and staff directly involved in your care. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

This site does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Children's privacy

Our service is intended for adults. If a consultation involves a minor, it should be initiated and supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, or to object to certain uses of it. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.

Emergencies

This service is not designed for severe medical situations. If you or someone near you needs immediate help, contact your local local medical help number directly.

Terms and Conditions

This Privacy Policy works alongside our Terms and Conditions, which govern your use of our services more broadly. Please review both before booking a consultation.
