Why choose us

What most online doctor services don't offer.

We looked closely at how other telemedicine services for travellers in Italy work. Here's where we do things differently.

Most services: paid consultations only We offer free consultations for students and those facing financial hardship.
Most services: video calls only We offer both video consultations and in-person clinic visits, your choice.
Most services: an anonymous "network" of doctors You know exactly who you're speaking with, and where they trained.
Most services: Italy or EU only We cover Italy and 43+ countries, useful before and after your trip.
Most services: one-off consultations Ongoing, low-cost long-term care plans for expats managing chronic conditions.
How it works

Fast Booking

Simple and hassle-free — no app to install, just a quick form and WhatsApp. Choose online or in person, whichever suits you.

1

Fill a quick form

Tell us your name, location and what's going on — takes under a minute.

2

Continue on WhatsApp

Your details open pre-filled in WhatsApp, an app you already have — just tap send.

3

See your doctor

We confirm a doctor and time, then pay simply using card and join the video call — or visit the clinic in person, whichever you prefer.

Free treatment

Can't afford a consultation? You may not have to pay at all.

We offer completely free consultations to students and to anyone facing genuine financial difficulty. Same licensed doctors, same quality of care — fully covered.

  • Students — just show a valid student ID in the chat. Erasmus students can show their ESN card instead.
  • Financial difficulty — we might ask for something that helps confirm your situation (e.g. proof of unemployment, low income, or similar).
Please note: free consultations are funded entirely by donations, so availability depends on our donation fund at any given time. We do our best to help everyone who qualifies. In case of no availability, our lowest rates are offered instead. Want to help fund free care? Support us here →

What is Your Doctor Abroad?+

See now a qualified doctor from 10 euros in Italy and 43+ countries. 24/7, online or in-person, no login required. Free for students and those in need.

Do you offer in-person appointments, or only video calls?+

Both. You can choose an online video consultation or an in-person clinic visit when you book — whichever suits your situation better.

Who is this service for?+

Anyone who needs to see a doctor — whether you're travelling, living abroad, prefer a video consultation, or would rather visit a clinic in person.

Where can I use my prescription?+

Your e-prescription can be shown at any pharmacy in the country you're currently in.

Can tourists use an online doctor in Italy?+

Yes — most of the people we see are tourists. You don't need Italian residency, an Italian ID, or an existing GP to book a consultation.

Can I consult in English?+

Yes, every consultation is conducted in fluent English. Italian is also available on request.

How fast can I speak with a doctor?+

Most patients are connected with a doctor within minutes of messaging us on WhatsApp, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Can children be seen online?+

Yes, a parent or guardian can book and join the consultation on the child's behalf. For serious paediatric symptoms, seek appropriate local medical care promptly.

Can I book from another country before I arrive in Italy?+

Yes. You can book from anywhere in the world before your trip, and we also cover 43+ other countries once you land.

Do I need to speak Italian to use a pharmacy afterward?+

No. Your e-prescription and any notes are provided in a format Italian pharmacies can process, and we can point you to English-friendly pharmacies nearby.

Can I get a medical certificate for my cruise line or employer?+

Yes, where legally permitted — fit-to-travel, fit-to-fly and sick notes are available. Let us know what the certificate needs to cover when you message us.

Is my consultation private and GDPR-compliant?+

Yes. Your medical information is handled confidentially in line with GDPR and Italian medical privacy law — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Do you refer patients to specialists?+

Yes, if your case needs a specialist we don't provide directly, we'll point you to trusted options in your area or back home.

Can I get a prescription for opioids or narcotics?+

No. Controlled substances with a risk of abuse can't be prescribed through an online consultation.

How much does it cost?+

Consultations start from €10. Free consultations are available for students and anyone facing genuine financial difficulty — see our free treatment section for details.

Can I pay with insurance?+

You pay upfront and receive a certificate you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement — this keeps booking fast for everyone.

Can I get an invoice?+

Yes, an invoice is sent automatically after payment.

What does a visit include?+

A video consultation with a licensed doctor, plus a prescription if your condition needs one.

Do I get any follow-up support after my consultation?+

Yes — every consultation includes one week of free follow-up support, so you can message your doctor with questions about your treatment at no extra cost.

I'm an expat without a doctor in Europe, or I have a chronic condition — do you offer anything long-term?+

Yes. If you're living in Europe without a regular doctor, we offer ongoing, long-term care plans at low rates. Fill out this quick form and we'll reach out with the options that fit you.

How do free consultations for students and those in financial difficulty work?+

Students can qualify by showing a valid student ID (Erasmus students can show their ESN card instead), and anyone facing financial hardship can qualify. They may be asked for something that supports that (for example proof of unemployment, low income, or a similar document) — you'll be asked for this in the WhatsApp chat once you message us via our free treatment section.
